“Here the emphasis is on immediacies, intensities, sensory overload, disorientation, the mêlée or liquefaction of signs and images, the mixing of codes, the unchained or floating signifiers of the postmodern “depthless” consumer culture where art and reality have switched places in an “aesthetic hallucination of the real.” (Featherstone)

“I understand art as innovation, fluid matter without clear boundaries that spills out over all walks of life and all types of human experience. Like water, it takes bits and pieces from different areas and never gives back what it took in the same amount and order. This randomness, apparent chaos, and chance are the sources of its creativity.”

I am a painter and designer based in Berlin. I hold a MFA in Painting from University of the Arts as well as a BA in Romance Philology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland.

From my earlier studies and work in the design industry, geometry has remained a central pillar of my practice. From the white space to the typography, the sense of a graphic image always finds its way back into my paintings.

Taking inspiration from personal experiences, music videos, consumerism, social media, and other elements of contemporary society, I open the door to a world in constant motion and playful interactions between the characters I give life to. Taken out of their original contexts, these “actors” take on new roles in compositions that are on the border between balance and uncertainty.

Light, space, and the horizon come together in my work to encapsulate a sense of freedom, guiding my subconscious explorations of what it means to be human in a world of Baudrillard’s "simulacra" (appearances). I explore the way in which digital facets of our existence can be manifested and reimagined in the flesh of the physical object.

I seek to rediscover the object’s essence, taking its pictorial representation as a springboard for further reflection. There is an awareness of human vulnerability apparent in my work where the figurative meets the abstract to express an idea of "being-in-between".

I begin the process of creating my paintings by stretching and priming each canvas myself. My medium of choice is oil and acrylic on canvas. In my constant pursuit of perfection, I consider the error as integral to the accomplishment of an artwork.

My work is a post-modern critique of social constructs, calling into question accepted truths and offering an unexpected alternative viewpoint. I have shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and my work can be found in public and private collections.
